Last week I got the chance to watch the Angking Galing At Husay sa Arte at Musika (AGHAM) Theater Company's presentation ALAMAT at Makati University. Since 1995 Mr. Patrick Almaden the group was able to expand its network of stage on various kinds of arts like music, painting, directors and consultants in the world of academe and professional. I witnessed that mastery of craft last week through their performance in Alamat.
Alamat is a story of love, nature,adventure, greed, searching for truth and realization. In the land called Orkidya a society of peace-loving encanto lead by Marayana Sura. She fight on her right for Orkidya together with Imana, who has curiosity and loves human Tarsus. But the whole ideal place turned black when Ulanag who was banished by Sura came into life again when people started to get greed against environment then turmoils started and Sura died fighting until the end and Imana became the Queen and chooses to be one and gave up Tarsus for her duty on Orkidya.
I really love the story because it gave significance for the environment and fight for it until the end and chooses it to protect until dead. The stage design also was also nice as they gave color and surreal painting. The costume design was so colorful really defines the color of nature which gave emphasized specially the plants and trees. I will recommend this theatrical play with my friends and children as well, unfortunately it ended but I will let you now if another one came up.
