In the Philippines, P&G manufacturing plant marked a new milestone as it inaugurated the newest Pampers facility line at Cabuyao, Laguna. This is to serve more mothers not only from the Philippines but from other ASEAN markets as well.

Last week, 17th of May, In celebration with the inauguration P&G headed by Cabuyao Plant Manager Fanny Wu, extended their helping hand to the mothers of Barangay Diezmo a barangay in the immediate vicinity of the Cabuyao Plant, with cooperation of their Brgy. Captain Alfredo Malabanan. They invited mothers from the barangay who have newborns or very young children and they attentively listened to the expert Mother & Child Nurses Association of the Philippines (MCNAP) Nurse Rosa De Las Alas. Both imparted tips on baby care to mothers particularly the importance of proper sleeping habits of their children. They are all surprise and amazed when P&G announces that a support and supply of Pampers for two years will be rendered into them.
After the short program, we proceed to the P&G Cabuyao Plant for a short plant tour which made me wish to work at the plant because they even have a gym and a recreation area at their big canteen and the fact that the plant is so clean, hi-tech and updated, we also visited the P&G 75th Anniversary museum which comprised of 75 memorabilia and products through the years, and a short program at their auditorium with the company’s global group president for baby care, Mr. Martin Riant which came fresh from the airport to attend the said momentous event.
Rest assure that P&G will bring so much joy and confident in every Filipino especially the mothers as they learn and experience the quality products that P&G is producing particularly Pampers with its new line of facility as they continually help the less fortunate to celebrate the joys of Motherhood.

For this year's Brigada Eskwela school sanitation and improving the schools of indigenous communities is the focus. Spearheaded by the Department of Education, Brigada Eskwela or National Schools Maintenance Week is the improvement of toilets and wash facilities -- to give emphasis on the importance of school sanitation and hygiene. Education Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC said when schools promote hygiene, they also help develop learners who are conscious of their own health and personal well being. “Our thrust in this year’s Brigada Eskwela is on school sanitation because it is also where personal hygiene is reinforced among our students which can, in turn, help develop their self-esteem as well as to help improve the schools of indigenous communities", Luistro added.

All are in involve and will be participating Brigada Eskwela such as parents, teachers, students, civic and business groups, local government units, non-government units and other community residents to repair and sprucing of schools two weeks before the opening of classes in June, particularly May 21-26. The goal is to ensure that the public schools are ready to receive students when school opens.
